Government Service Bus (GSB)

It serves as a consolidated platform to facilitate the seamless electronic exchange of shared government services among entities, ensuring accuracy, speed, and security via the Government Secure Network (GSN).

The Government Service Bus (GSB) enables the electronic transmission of various government services, including but not limited to commercial registry, real estate instruments, Qiyas results, health files, enterprise licenses, and payment orders.

The GSB was established in 2009 and transferred to SDAIA on 20/10/2022.

Requirements of the Government Service Bus (GSB)

The service provider or consumer must be a government entity.

Objectives of the Government Service Bus (GSB)
  • Develop integrated digital government services.
  • Reduce the time and cost required to establish integration between government entities.
  • Achieve a (paperless government) by increasing the effectiveness of the government services provided.

The Most Important Achievements of the Government Service Bus

  1. Establish an integrated infrastructure that includes all network components, servers, and licenses and connect them to the National Information Center's monitoring systems, such as NOC, SOC.

  2. Successful implementation of the cybersecurity controls of the Government Service Bus (GSB) with the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) and Governance and Compliance Department.

  3. Promote the Online Service Index position by providing information on the Government Service Bus (GSB) to the United Nations (UN), contributing to Saudi Arabia's 31st ranking in 2022 compared to 43rd in 2020.

  4. Secured top position in the Digital Technologies sector at NIC in 2022, based on performance indicators assessing customer satisfaction with government entities.

Linking Procedures as a Consumer

When a new entity is linked to the Government Service Bus (GSB), it will:
  • Sign a linking agreement to the Government Service Bus (GSB).
  • Connect servers “as a consumer” to the Government Service Bus and Data Marketplace through:
      Government Secure Network (GSN)
      National Information Center (NSP/AIP)
  • Once networking is completed, install GSBExpress on both the testing and production servers from the Data Marketplace. Then, submit a request to link as a consumer to the Government Service Bus (GSB).

Upon submission of the linking request as a consumer, the GSB team will:

  • Provide the entity with a username and password for accessing GSBExpress.
  • Work on the required service authorizations and notify the customer for verification.

Linking Procedures as a Provider

When a new entity is linked to the Government Service Bus (GSB), it will:
  • Sign a linking agreement to the Government Service Bus (GSB).
  • Connect servers “as a provider” to the Government Service Bus (GSB) through:
      Government Secure Network (GSN)
      National Information Center (NSP/AIP)
  • Once networking is completed, the entity will receive the required files and documents describing the service to be provided through GSB, including:
    • Service Profile
    • Service Requirements Specification (SRS) Document
    • Data Dictionary (to be completed by the service provider)

To submit a linking request as a provider to deploy a new service or update an existing service on the Government Service Bus (GSB):

  • Attach the required service files and documents.
  • The GSB team will process the application in collaboration with the service provider.

Determine the type of service required from the Data Marketplace, or contact the National Information Center Support team to open a ticket for the GSB team.
