SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence

SDAIA-KFUPM Joint Research Center for Artificial Intelligence  

SDAIA and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals inaugurated the Center in 2022 to advance the field of artificial intelligence in all areas and consolidate the Kingdom's position as a global leader among the group of data-based economies by conducting and supporting research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence in line with the national priorities to achieve the goals of Vision 2030.

The Center works to provide innovative solutions to meet challenges in various fields by taking advantage of artificial intelligence in the new data era. The Center also seeks to provide adequate infrastructure for artificial intelligence research and work to attract, support and train talents in the Kingdom in this field, in addition to developing ways to use artificial intelligence in all sectors of the Kingdom, such as energy, industry, education, health, and other sectors.

Objectives:

  1. Implementing research and development initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence.
  2. Developing artificial intelligence technology solutions to solve energy sector challenges by creating use cases and research projects.
  3. Supporting the transfer of knowledge and education in artificial intelligence through workshops and training courses.

SDAIA-KAUST Center of Excellence in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

SDAIA-KAUST Center of Excellence in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence  

The Center was established in cooperation between SDAIA and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as it will be launched in 2023 to achieve the objectives of Vision 2030 within the framework of enhancing competitiveness in the fields of data and artificial intelligence and supporting knowledge transfer processes between scientists and researchers at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Saudi universities.

Objectives

  1. Foster research, development, and innovation in artificial intelligence by developing applied data science and AI solutions in healthcare, environment, water, food, and energy that address challenges facing SDAIA and its partners.
  2. Accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence in the Kingdom by developing practical training programs in data science and artificial intelligence tools and methods and presenting these programs to the largest possible audience.

Center of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence for Health Sector

The Center was established in 2021 to achieve excellence in the health sector by developing and implementing data and artificial intelligence strategies to raise the status of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the leading global indexes of data and artificial intelligence in all fields, as well as raising awareness of data and artificial intelligence methodologies and the need to develop national capabilities to keep pace with modern changes, in addition to activate and develop artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies in the field of health and the subsequent establishment of significant partnerships with research centers specialized in the field of artificial intelligence.
